EMERGENCY ORDINANCE

STATE OF LOUISIANA

CITY OF MONROE                                                                        NO.  11,846               

            The following Ordinance was introduced by Mrs.  Ezernack                    who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr.  Clark              :

AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE CONDITION OF THE ELECTRIC MOTOR ON PUMP #3 AT THE PINE STREET STORM WATER PUMP STATION AN EMERGENCY NECESSITATING IMMEDIATE REPAIR AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO.

            WHEREAS, the electric motor on Pump #3 at the Pine Street Storm Water Pump Station is in need of emergency repair work; and

            WHEREAS, Pump #3 at the Pine Street Storm Water Pump Station provides service to a large area, much of the area from Louisville south to the RR tracks; and

            WHEREAS, this is the Ouachita River Flood Control Station and with the river already high and more spring rains possible, were the pump to malfunction it would cause serious issues; and

            WHEREAS, funds are available through the Storm Water Repairs and Maintenance account.

            NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that the condition of Pump #3 at the Pine Street Storm Water Pump Station is hereby declared an emergency.

            BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that such emergency repairs as are necessary to repair Pump #3 at the Pine Street Storm Water Pump Station are hereby authorized and approved and the Mayor of the City of Monroe is authorized to enter into such contracts as may be necessary to complete the project.

            This Ordinance having been submitted in writing and was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

            AYES:            Echols, Ezernack, Woods, Wilson & Clark

            NAYS:            None.

            ABSENT:      None.

            And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  10th   day of April, 2018.
