The Training Division is staffed by a Chief of Training and four Training Officers with Offices at 1810 Martin Luther King Drive. The members of the Training Division work diligently to educate our firefighters to the proper standards and techniques of firefighting as well as preparing for hazardous materials incidents, floods, tornadoes and other natural disasters. Special emphasis is currently being placed on providing a highly trained "core" group of firefighters in the area of technical rescue techniques such as rappelling and confined space rescue operations. Training Officers respond to emergency scenes to assist incident commanders in the area of command aide and safety officer. The Division conducts and coordinates regularly scheduled drills to maintain firefighter skill levels.
