Muscular Dystrophy Assocation (MDA)

"The Monroe Fire Department continues its tradition of service by collecting donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association."

As declared in our Mission Statement, the Monroe Fire Department is committed to providing our citizens with "quality public service." One of the many components of this part of our mission is works of charity for the benefit of others. The firefighters of the Monroe Fire Department have continued their "Fill The Boot" campaign to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, or "Jerry's Kids".

Monroe firefighters, while still in-service for emergency incidents in the city, regularly post at the openings of major stores and mall entrances, in uniform and ready to receive donations from the public. In this effort, Monroe firefighters collected over $4,600 in the year 2013 for Jerry's Kids.
