Mayor Mayo Claus to visit Barkdull Faulk Elementary for 18th Annual Denmon’s Caring for Kids Event

For the 18th consecutive year Denmon Engineering is bringing some holiday cheer to a number of underprivileged children in northeast Louisiana.

The 2016 “Denmon Caring for Kids” event will kick-off at 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 14th, at Barkdull Faulk Elementary School, located at 2110 Jackson Street, in Monroe, LA.

Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo will be playing the role of Santa Claus for photographs and presentation of the gifts.  Nearly 500 kids attending 12 different elementary schools throughout Northeast Louisiana will receive special packages from this year’s effort.
Terry Denmon, president of Denmon Engineering, established the charity in an effort to give something back to the local community. The charity evolved from Denmon’s desire to provide a charity whose greatest impact was on local children.  In working with area schools, Denmon Engineering determined that an area of great need applied to the school uniform policy.  Many low-income families are unable to provide the required uniforms for their children.

The “holiday giving” works in conjunction with the annual Denmon Engineering Golf Tournament (held in May) which raises funds for the event. The funds raised at the golf tournament are used to supply underprivileged children with school uniforms as well as a toy package for Christmas.

If you are interested in getting involved with the “Caring for Kids” charity, Denmon Engineering welcomes the support of the community.  The more businesses and individuals who offer their support, the more children the “Caring for Kids” charity will be able to adopt each year.  For more information, contact Ruby James at (318) 388-1422.
