Monroe Water Customers to pay State Mandated Increase in Safe Drinking Water Fee, Effective February 2017

Attention City of Monroe Water System Customers:

In the 2016 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature, Act 605 was enacted authorizing an increase in the Safe Drinking Water fee beginning on January 1, 2017. The current fee will be increased from $3.20 per year (currently billed in July) to $12.00 per year.  

In order to implement this state mandated increase in a way that is considerate of our constituents, beginning with our February 2017 billing, the City of Monroe will begin collecting the Safe Drinking Water Fee monthly.  This will increase your monthly water bill by $1.00 per month. This will affect all Monroe water customers, including home-owners and businesses.
