CITY OF MONROE

            The following Ordinance was offered by Mr.  Wilson                        who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr.   Echols                                    :

Amendment to Chapter 37, Zoning, of the Code of the City of Monroe, Article III, Use Districts, Section 37-39 Special Use Districts, Table 3.7 Special Districts Permitted and Conditional Uses.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Monroe has this date held its Public Hearing with respect to the following proposed amendments to Chapter 37, Zoning, of the Code of the City of Monroe, Article III, Use Districts, Section 37-39 Special Use Districts, Table 3.7 Commercial Districts Permitted and Conditional Uses, Personal Services Establishment.

 WHEREAS, the use of Personal Services Establishments need to be regulated to protect the health, property, and public welfare of the City of Monroe;

WHEREAS, the applicant is requesting that Personal Services Establishment be added as a permitted use in the RF, Riverfront District and Staff has recommended that this use also be added to the Open Space (OS) District as this use would be compatible in both zoning districts.

APPLICANT: Zachary Raybourn (TAM 100-18)

            WHEREAS, the City Council has further considered the recommendation of the Monroe Planning Commission recommending approval, on a 4-0-1 vote, and that the above stated Sections of the Code of the City of Monroe should be amended.           

            NOW, THEREFORE;

BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that Chapter 37, Zoning, of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Monroe, Louisiana be and it is amended as follows:

            This ordinance was INTRODUCED on the 13th day of February 2018.

NOTICE PUBLISHED on the  16th                          day of  February        , 2018

            This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published was then submitted to a final vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

AYES:            Echols, Ezernack, Woods, Wilson & Clark
NAYS:            None.
ABSENT:       None.

            And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  27th    day of  February        , 2018.
