ORDINANCE

CITY OF MONROE NO. 11,843
The following Ordinance was introduced by Echols , who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Wilson :
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING JAMES E. MAYO, MAYOR, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE OUACHITA PARISH POLICE JURY AND GRAPHIC PACKAGING INTERNATIONAL LLC TO SUPPLY POTABLE WATER AND PROVIDE SEWER TREATMENT SERVICES TO GRAPHIC PACKAGING INTERNATIONAL LLC AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO.
WHEREAS, Graphic Packaging International LLC has made application to purchase potable water and obtain sewer treatment services from the City for the economic development project identified by the Louisiana Department of Economic Development as “Project Rogue,” said area more particularly described on the attached Exhibit “A”;
WHEREAS, Graphic Packaging International LLC and/or Ouachita Parish Police Jury have made or agreed to make at no cost to the City all improvements necessary to connect to the City’s existing water mains and sewer lift station;
WHEREAS, in accordance with Resolution No. 6990 approved by the Monroe City Council on July 11, 2017 the City is willing to enter into an agreement with the Ouachita Parish Police Jury and Graphic Packaging International LLC to supply potable water and provide sewer treatment services to Graphic Packaging International LLC for this limited purpose; and
WHEREAS, the agreement shall provide for certain connections to the City of Monroe public utilities as described in the attached agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe that James E. Mayo, Mayor, is hereby authorized to enter into a Contract with the Ouachita Parish Police Jury and Graphic Packaging International LLC as per the attached agreement.
This ordinance was INTRODUCED on the 19th day of March 2018.
NOTICE PUBLISHED on the 22nd day of March , 2018.
This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published was then submitted to a final vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:
AYES: Echols, Ezernack, Woods, Wilson & Clark
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: None.
And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the 10th day of April , 2018.
