CITY OF MONROE                                                                                 NO.  11,870                  

 

The following Ordinance was introduced by Ms.  Woods                 , who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr.  Echols             :

AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF REAL PROPERTY INTO THE CITY OF MONROE FROM RALPH W. BROCKMAN, JR.-1978, D/B/A MONROE ELDERLY HOUSING, AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO:                                                                             

WHEREAS, the City of Monroe is in need of the property described hereinbelow for drainage purposes; and

WHEREAS, Ralph W. Brockman, Jr. – 1978 d/b/a Monroe Elderly Housing, is the owner of the property described hereinbelow and desires to donate to the City of Monroe for the mutual benefits to be derived from the Act of Donation; and

WHEREAS, the Property Description is as follows, to-wit:

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION

Tract 1 of Canal

A certain tract or parcel of land situated in Lot 2, Block A, Meadowbrook Park, situated in a portion of Blocks 2, 3, and 4, Unit 1, Martin’s Subdivision, and Lot 4 of George M. Spyker’s Subdivision, Section 6, Township 17 North, Range 4 East, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, as per plat in Plat Book 14, page 101, of records of Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, being more particularly described as follows:

BEGINNING at a 5/8” rebar at the Northeast corner of Lot 2, Block A, Meadowbrook Park, situated in a portion of Blocks 2, 3, and 4, Unit 1, Martin’s Subdivision, and Lot 4 of George M. Spyker’s Subdivision, Section 6, Township 17 North, Range 4 East, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, as per plat in Plat Book 14, page 101, of records of Ouachita Parish, Louisiana; thence South 00 degrees 28 minutes 45 seconds West along the East line of said Lot 2 a distance of 77.45 feet; thence South 84 degrees 56 minutes 00 seconds West a distance of 326.93 feet; thence South 52 degrees 13 minutes 29 seconds West a distance of 42.71 feet; thence South 30 degrees 56 minutes 30 seconds West a distance of 175.76 feet; thence South 41 degrees 00 minutes 45 seconds West a distance of 158.88 feet to a point on the Easterly right of way line of Bruce Street;  thence Northwesterly along said Easterly right of way line and along a curve to the left, said curve having a radius of 50.00 feet, a chord bearing North 66 degrees 40 minutes 55 seconds West for a chord length of 9.91 feet, an arc length of 9.92 feet; thence continue along a curve to the right, said curve having a radius of 21.75 feet, a chord bearing of North 36 degrees 11 minutes 27 seconds West a chord length of 25.68 feet, for an arc length of 27.47 feet; thence North 00 degrees 00 minutes 50 seconds West a distance of 26.13 feet to a point on the North line of said Lot 2; thence South 89 degrees 26 minutes 35 seconds East along said North line a distance of 7.40 feet;  thence North 41 degrees 00 minutes 45 seconds East along a Westerly line of said Lot 2 a distance of 159.52 feet to a 5/8” rebar; thence North 30 degrees 50 minutes 45 seconds East along said Westerly line a distance of 203.50 feet to a 5/8” rebar; thence North 84 degrees 56 minutes 00 seconds East a distance of 335.02 feet to a 5/8” rebar; thence North 46 degrees 05 minutes 37 seconds East a distance of 40.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.

Tract 2 of Canal

A certain tract or parcel of land situated in Lot 2, Block A, Meadowbrook Park, situated in a portion of Blocks 2, 3, and 4, Unit 1, Martin’s Subdivision, and Lot 4 of George M. Spyker’s Subdivision, Section 6, Township 17 North, Range 4 East, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, as per plat in Plat Book 14, page 101, of records of Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, being more particularly described as follows:

BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Lot 2, Block A, Meadowbrook Park, situated in a portion of Blocks 2, 3, and 4, Unit 1, Martin’s Subdivision, and Lot 4 of George M. Spyker’s Subdivision, Section 6, Township 17 North, Range 4 East, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, as per plat in Plat Book 14, page 101, of records of Ouachita Parish, Louisiana; thence North 00 degrees 02 minutes 50 seconds West along the West line of said Lot 2 a distance of 223.13 feet to a corner of said Lot 2; thence North 89 degrees 56 minutes 10 seconds East along a north line of said Lot 2 a distance of 53.00 feet; thence South 00 degrees 02 minutes 50 seconds East, parallel to the West line of said Lot 2, a distance of 223.13 feet to a point on the South line of said Lot 2; thence South 89 degrees 56 minutes 10 seconds West along said South line a distance of 53.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that the donation of immovable property from Ralph W. Brockman, Jr. – 1978, d/b/a Monroe Elderly Housing, to the City of Monroe, a copy of the Act of Donation of Immovable Property attached hereto, be and the same are hereby accepted.

 

            BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that James E. Mayo, Mayor, be and he is hereby duly authorized to accept this Donation on behalf of the City of Monroe.

 

            This Ordinance was introduced on the  14th  day of August, 2018.

 

            Notice published on the  17th      day of  August       , 2018.

 

This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published, was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

 

AYES:            Echols, Ezernack, Woods, Wilson & Clark

 

NAYS:            None.

 

ABSENT:      None.

 

And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  28th  day of  August           , 2018.
