            The following Ordinance was offered by Mr.  Echols                       who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr.  Wilson                                :

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AND AMENDING THE ZONING MAP FOR THE CITY OF MONROE, LOUISIANA

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Monroe has held its Public Hearing with respect to the following proposed Zoning Map Amendment, to-wit:

An amendment to the Zoning Map to zone a ±.62 acre tract of land, more or less, presently located in Ouachita Parish to B-1, Neighborhood Mixed Use District. This property presently does not have a zoning classification as it is being annexed into the city and is more particularly described as follows: 

WHEREAS, the legal description of these properties is:

Lots 1 and 2, Square 1, Pecan Grove Addition less lot sold Book 2520-404 R#133650 being Parcel #33-1.

And otherwise known as 7129 DeSiard Street

      APPLICANT: McDonald & McDonald Investments, LLC (MA 110-17)

WHEREAS, the City Council has further considered the report of the Monroe Planning Commission recommending approval, on a 4-0-1 vote. The proposed property to be zoned is currently within Ouachita Parish and is being annexed into the City Limits. McDonald & McDonald Investors, LLC owns the parcel and is leasing the structure 8located on the property to be operated as a special restaurant (coffee shop). The proposed zoning request of B-1, Neighborhood Mixed Use District is the appropriate classification for this use.

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana in legal session convened that the Zoning Map of the City of Monroe and the boundaries thereof which map is described in Section 37-34 of the City of Monroe Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance and which map shown the Zoning Districts and Boundaries thereof, be and the same are hereby amended to zone the ±.62 acres previously described to B-1, Neighborhood Mixed Use District as shown on the map which is attached hereto and made a part thereof and which is adopted as the new Zoning Map of the City of Monroe.

            This ordinance was INTRODUCED on the 11th of September, 2018.

NOTICE PUBLISHED on the  17th,19th & 21st    day of  September          , 2018,

            This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published was then submitted to a final vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

AYES:            Echols, Ezernack & Wilson

NAYS:            None.

ABSENT:       Woods & Clark

And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the   25th    day of  September      ,

2018.
