The following Ordinance was offered by Mr. Wilson who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mrs. Ezernack :
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AND AMENDING THE ZONING MAP FOR THE CITY OF MONROE, LOUISIANA

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Monroe has held its Public Hearing with respect to the following proposed Zoning Map Amendment, to-wit:
An amendment to the Zoning Map to rezone a ±5.34 acre tract of land, more or less, from the R-4, High Density Residential District to B-1, Neighborhood Mixed Use
District located in Ouachita Parish and more particularly described as follows:
±5.34 acres in Lot 1 Section 32 Township18 N Range 4 E. Beginning 1711.24 ft south & 200’ east of NW corner, said Lot 1, east 200’ on north line Adams Drive, north 1156.68’ to southline Curry Street, west on south line Curry Street, west on south line Curry Street, 200 ft, south 1161.24 ft to beginning -Mobile Home Plaza #8081
APPLICANT: Mark Craft (MA 111-18)
WHEREAS, the City Council has further considered the report of the Monroe Planning Commission recommending approval, on a 4-0-1 vote. The lot that is being proposed to be rezoned was a manufactured home park. There are a few units left as the park is being phased out. The lot is presently zoned R-4, High Density Multi-Family Residential District. The applicant would like to rezone it to B-1, Neighborhood Mixed Use District in order to allow commercial uses. The applicant is planning to build an office with storage at this location. The proposed B-1, Neighborhood Mixed Use District is an appropriate zoning classification for the proposed use.
NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana in legal session convened that the Zoning Map of the City of Monroe be amended to zone a ±5.34 acre tract of land, previously described and the boundaries thereof which map is described in Section 37-34 of the City of Monroe Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance and which map shown the Zoning Districts and Boundaries thereof, be and the same are hereby amended to B-1, Neighborhood Mixed Use District , as shown on the map which is attached hereto and made a part thereof and which is adopted as the new Zoning Map of the City of Monroe.
This ordinance was INTRODUCED on the 11th of September, 2018.
NOTICE PUBLISHED on the 17th,19th & 21st day of September , 2018,
This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published was then submitted to a final vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:
AYES: Echols, Ezernack & Wilson
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Woods & Clark
And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the 25th day of September ,
2018.
