Who We Are
Water treatment plant personnel are responsible for all the storage tanks, remote stations, pumps, valves, motors, computers, software programs, and the on line monitoring equipment that must be maintained on a daily basis.
Monroe's water treatment plant operators are all certified by the State of Louisiana and are required to attend continuing training course to maintain their licenses. The operators are responsible for the treatment, production and distribution process 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They're always ready to make any necessary change in the treatment process to ensure a safe water supply.
Laboratory personnel at the plant, collect, analyze, and monitor the water quality both at the plant and in the distribution system, including the bacteriological sampling required by the E.P.A. and the Louisiana Department of Health/Office of Public Health.
In addition to the operators and laboratory personnel the plant has various other staff that maintains the Water Treatment Plant and water system equipment to keep it running efficiently and smoothly.
